Dr. Paula Burns is the eighth President and CEO of Lethbridge College, a position that she has held since 2013. Before moving to Lethbridge College, Dr. Burns served as Provost and Vice President Academic of Northern Alberta Institute of Technology(NAIT). She is the holder of a Master of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University, a PhD from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education/University of Toronto and an MBA with a specialization in leadership, from Royal Roads University. Dr. Burns has worked in various departments across post-secondary institutions, from teaching, to curriculum development, to leadership positions. Because of her vast experience and skills, Dr. Burns’ is a sought-after speaker on change leadership and meaningful partnerships.
Dr. Burns continues to work with a variety of external organizations including chairing Alberta’s Comprehensive Community Colleges group and sitting as a member of the Council of Post-Secondary Presidents of Alberta Executive Committee. She is also a board member and chair of multiple committees for Colleges and Institutes Canada. She was a board member for Economic Development Lethbridge. Dr. Burns brings a plethora of invaluable skill and experience to the Board.
The Caribbean Med Labs Foundation, based in Trinidad and Tobago, is a non-governmental organisation established in response to a request from CARICOM Ministers of Health in June 2007. The Ministers had requested continuation of the regional effort aimed at building and sustaining the highest quality medical laboratory services.
