Transformation of Laboratory Services
CMLF plays a critical role in leading the transformation of laboratory services within the Caribbean to achieve quality assured diagnostics and laboratory capacity that are critical to strong economies and to withstanding current and future public health threats.
Leadership and Technical Training
CMLF staff have tested and proven expertise in development and delivery of innovative competency-based training for building laboratory management, supervision and quality management skills within the Caribbean region and other resource limited areas.
Project Implementation
CMLF has a demonstrated track record of successful project management, on-time and within budget project delivery. As a not-for-profit non-governmental organization (NGO) CMLF is well respected regionally and internationally and has a history of regional and international partnerships.
Caribbean Med Labs Foundation
The Caribbean Med Labs Foundation, based in Trinidad and Tobago, is a non-governmental organisation established in response to a request from CARICOM Ministers of Health in June 2007.
The Ministers had requested continuation of the regional effort aimed at building and sustaining the highest quality medical laboratory services through an independent self-sustaining mechanism.

The Caribbean Med Labs Foundation assists regional populations and governments as well as public and private laboratories by:

Advocating at the highest levels for the necessary laws and regulations for licensing of laboratories to ensure that standards are met;Promoting Development
Promoting the development of a regional environment supportive of high quality medical and public health laboratory services and blood safety;Mobilising Resources
Mobilising resources for strengthening medical and public health laboratories and stakeholder institutions;Collaboration with Stakeholders
